Mega Win YouTube Video Information:

I first saw this game from Novomatic at G2E. The game is not that remarkable, except for its potential for a big win, but the platform is noteworthy.

You sit in a sort of lounge chair and have two displays in front of you. You can flip the two displays so that one shows the pay table while the other shows the reels, or visa versa. The lounge chair has a cup holder, too.

In the version I saw at G2E, the lounge chair’s armrest has a spin button that you can put into “Auto” mode, so the reels spin on their own. The version I played did not have the Auto feature.

I was surprised to see this platform in a U.S. casino (it was at Cache Creek). Most casinos are careful how they use their floor space and this Novomatic platform takes up a lot of space, with much of it not really contributing to the experience (unless you have a lot of friends holding drinks and watching you as you as you play – or if you are really drunk and need to lean back as you play).

  1. Novomatic slots look primitive but they have huge potential. Mega Joker here is a game I wish I could play for money online but can't due to licensing issues. Europeans can play it; CasinoTwitcher has a big hit that he recorded last year.

  2. I totally missed the Novomatic/Austrian Gaming Industries booth at G2E so I am very glad to see this. (Also glad to see the explanation for the filming results in recent vids.) Cup holders are nice but he auto spin button is a waste – it's no fun to play if you can't pretend the timing of your spins is influencing the outcome. Some years past I watched a player who, in addition to playing his own game, had player's cards wedged into the max spin display on the games on either side so that the reels spun continuously. What fun is that! Looks like a way to loose money 3 times as fast. Oh, wait, that's Wonder 4! LOL
